I hope everyone had a fang-tastic May Day! I’m so punny! Squee!
*ahem* Sorry, my giddiness over having a brownie today seems to have gotten the better of me. It really donesn’t take much to make me happy.
Personally, I welcomed the fairies with a lot of cursing and cussing as they stopped up my sink and worked their vudu-whodo on my bathtub so that it no longer holds water. Somehow the varments even managed to make it so that changing a light bulb is chore (don’t ask, long story).
Speaking of which, I have named the house. Finally! I think every house should have a name. Casa Insert Last Name Here, Batcave, The Wife’s Place, Plaza De Zaglia, Cell Block 9, Rose Red… whatever. Mine is Cian Chay. As far as I know, it means Ancient Fairy Dwelling. That seems appropriate since my house was built in 1949 (not ancient, but you get the point) and everything in it seems fairy mazed. Does anyone other than me call it that any more? Maybe it’s called fairy jinxed or something in other parts of the world. But I digress! Either it’s the fairies or my house is cursed. I said it was cursed when seven offers and loans before mine failed to clear. Sometimes I’m not so sure I didn’t secretly know that buying this place would send me off the deep end.
At any rate, I’m painting a plaque for it this month to proclaim the place’s newly named status. I have to find some better board and some more gold paint. Normally, I’m all about hating me some gold, but this time… this time I think the opulence and gleam of gold would suit whatever evil, hateful, wretched goblins from Hell helpful sprites are about my place.
Also, I have a friend coming all the way from merry ol’ England to stay with me this month! Hooray penpals! He’s stateside until the 29th. If I’m feeling spiffy (read as if I remember) I will get a quick interview with him and let everyone know what a Brit thinks of U.S. ^_^
So, what did everyone else do for the first of May? What about Cinco De Mayo? I hope the hangovers weren’t too bad. Helpful hint: food before, water during, daily vitamin, pain killer, and water after.
