A HD plasma t.v. has been on my to-get list for a while. It has officially gotten bumped up a few notches thanks to this post. I can see this being everywhere in the not-so-distant future.
Today’s selection is Blue Milk Special. You haven’t heard about it? Silly goose! Here, let me explain. No, that will take too long. Let me sum up. Blue Milk Special is a Star Wars parody comic. Seriously. And it is awesome.
You might need some basic Star Wars knowledge. But no big if you don’t. There is a handy resource page available. Or you can wiki it.
My Dad is the all-time greatest! Other people see junk half buried in mud on some remote hillside and drive on by. Not my dad. My dad drives back because, and I quote, “it’d look nice your garage.” He knows me so well! Now, look what I have!
Squee-age!!!
The plan is to rip off all of the backing, replace the plastic sheet numbers with ones I create, and hang it over my work bench. I’m leaving the rust. Partly because it looks perfect as it is and partly mostly because I’m lazy. I have high hopes for this piece of Americana. It’s going to help my garage be cool. Which will help me be cool. Even if only in my mind.
The Carlsberg brewery workers are on strike in Denmark after the boss tells them they can only drink at lunchtime. Seriously. Read it here.
I was needing a definition this morning for a word I can no longer remember. I keyboardr-ed it, as is my habit, and found this!
It’s a bouncing visual way for you to learn about words! Score! Basically the site uses a giant idea web to show the relationships, definitions, and related concepts of words and phrases. You can look up something specific or hit the random button. If you have Firefox, there is even an option to add it as a search tool. Once you type in your word, hit enter and away you go. You can zoom in and out (something you will need if you type in a complex concept) and bounce the little nodes around. When your search results are displayed, mouse over the term of your choice and a little pop-up box will give a brief description. There is also a handy-dandy color coded legend on the left hand side of the screen to help you quickly identify the part of speech and relationships between all synsets.
This is so cool! Now I’m looking up words for fun! You should too. Be addicted with me. It’ll be fun. Promise. *cheeky grin*
